What UPF protection does this offer?
The Davek Parasol provides maximum UPF 50+ protection.

Can the parasol be used for both sun and rain?
The parasol is waterproof and can be used for rain. That said, we built it to be used primarily for the sun. The parasol’s flat canopy is designed to maximize shade reach, while maintaining a slim profile when closed. For rain, we recommend a dome-shaped canopy to protect you from rain coming in all directions. Here is a list of our excellent rain umbrella options.

How does it differ from a regular umbrella?
The Davek Parasol features a special undercoat film which absorbs heat. This heat absorbing feature delivers a significantly cooler experience in the shade than a rain umbrella. While our rain umbrellas still offer 70-90% UV protection (depending on the fabric color), the Davek Parasol is specially made for the sun and provides even more sun protection, blocking 99% of solar rays. Other characteristics that differ from our rain umbrella line are a longer, extended shaft and flat-shaped canopy for greater shade reach.

How long is it when closed?
The extended shaft is telescopic, allowing a closed length of under 20 inches.  Very slim and narrow, easily fits into any tote or beach bag.
